Congratulations are in order for David Hasselhoff.
The 63-year-old former Baywatch star is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Hayley Roberts, his rep has confirmed to E! News. After five years of dating, the actor asked his leading lady to be his for life.
"Thanks for all Congratulations to me & Hayley," he tweeted early Tuesday.
A pair since 2011, the couple first met when the Hoff was signing an autograph for her. Five years later, they are finally ready to say "I Do."
"I knew that I was really unhappy without her," Hasselhoff told Hello! "I waited to propose because I thought I was too old for her."
When the right moment came to finally unveil the ring to the 36-year-old, Roberts thought it was a stunt.
"I thought he was just joking around at first. He's asked me before, but it was never for real," Roberts told the magazine. "I cried so hard that he didn't get around to actually asking, 'Will you marry me?' until about 10 minutes later."
Hasselhoff has been married twice before. He first wed Catherine Hickland, but they divorced five years later in 1989. Nine months after the split, he married Pamela Bach and had two daughters, Taylor and Hayley, before filing for divorce again in 2006.
His former marriage to Bach has been back in the headlines as of late because the former America's Got Talent filed a legal request to end his $21,000 alimony payments to her since his annual gross income is not enough to cover the cost anymore.
