Honest Trailers Covers the Original Star Wars

"We're not calling it A New Hope."

"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."

There was a time before the film industry became an assembly line for special effects blockbusters.

Before the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens next month, Screen Junkies is taking us back to where the magic began, as the original Star Wars (Episode IV) gets the Honest Trailers treatment.

(They refuse to call it A New Hope.)

"From the once masterful director, who just couldn't leave well enough alone," a.k.a. George Lucas, comes the 1977 classic which has led to sh--ty prequels, countless Wookieepedia entries on all the supporting characters, and a world where 40-year-olds think it's cool to still own action figures.

This was a simpler time, before Lucas felt there was a need to keep dropping updated versions with needless CGI effects forced into what has already been labeled a "near-perfect movie."

"Because if there's one thing the original Star Wars wasn't missing it's poorly rendered, out of place CGI animals filling up every square inch of the frame," laments the Honest Trailers' narrator.

Though the hilarious trailer is relatively nice to the film, it does address the acting choices of "whiny space brat" Luke Skywalker, as well as Hayden Christensen in the prequels.

Plus, it points out the lack of ladies on-screen, an old man light saber battle, and how lame Darth Vader's original voice was.

And let's not forget that over-the-top Freudian finale! (Watch the video above to discover just how many "that's what she said" moments there were.)

Star Wars could get pretty suggestive!

Can the latest installment in the Star Wars franchise live up to the original? We'll find out soon enough. Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters Dec. 18.
