Forget Monday Night Football—Aaron Rodgers is making "Monday Night Gratitude" a thing.

Less than a week after a source confirmed to E! News that he and Shailene Woodley had broken up nearly a year after their engagement, the NFL star, 38, took to Instagram to profess his love for the "incredibly special people" in his life, which would include the 30-year-old actress.

"Here's some... #MondayNightGratitude for some of the incredibly special people in my life," he wrote on Instagram Feb. 21, alongside a series of different photos, "with some pictures from the last beautiful year."

As for Shailene's shoutout—in addition to including a pic of the two together in his post—Aaron wrote, "Thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life. Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you."

Aaron also reflected on their relationship while speaking on the Pat McAfee Show on Feb. 22.

"When your home life is stable and you have an amazing partner to do life with, it just makes the work life a bonus," he said, adding, "Significant others are looked at as distractions, when to be honest, it's usually the opposite. If you play bad or have a rough stretch, it's on you."

He went on to say that he "learned so much" from Shailene while they were dating. "She's an incredible woman, talented, smart, kind," he shared. "She taught me what unconditional love looks like and that's a great gift and having a partner like that makes life so much more enjoyable."

Aaron continued, "I think that living a life of gratitude is so important and when you meet your person, life just changes and you can't possibly not be changed being around those special people. Friendships can do that, relationships can do that, and you're just never the same… These people we can get to have in our lives inspire us and push us."

He also apologized to his ex, as well as his family and friends, for the controversy surrounding his COVID-19 views

"I am very sorry to those people, Shai, my loved ones, my agents, you and the boys," the athlete said. "I didn't realize the kind of shrapnel they'd be taking."

According to multiple reports, the couple recently decided to call it quits, with an insider exclusively telling E! News that "it didn't work out" for the couple.

And although the love was (and still is) there between the couple, as the insider noted, their growing professional lives have kept them quite busy.

"They are two very different people," the source added. "They are both focused on their careers, but it took them in separate directions." And as for where the former lovers stand now, the source explained, "They remain supportive of one another and on good terms."

And Aaron's moment of gratitude serves as all the proof needed.
