There is a huge rise in TV shows and movies being turned into plays, or even worse, musicals. Even an on-stage version of Pee Wee's Playhouse is currently being made. I personally don't like musicals, but when an opportunity comes knocking, Chelsea Lately opens the door and says "Come on in, opportunity, do you want anything to drink?" So I am in talks to develop Chelsea Lately: The Musical, and I think it's going to be huge. Martin Short has already agreed to play Chuy, and I'm in negotiations for Angela Lansbury to take on the role of Chelsea. I originally offered it to Joan Rivers, but she has a prior arrangement...with the end of her rope.
