Old Christine's Wanda Sykes: "I'm Proud to be Gay"
Bravo, Wanda Sykes!
The funnywoman and co-star of The New Adventures of Old Christine officially came out of the closet yesterday.
Sykes also announced she married her girlfriend on Oct. 25, just days before the passage of Proposition 8, which has banned gay marriage in California.
“You know, I don't really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn't feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life," said Sykes, 44, while speaking at a Las Vegas rally for gay marriage.
“I got pissed off,” she continued. “They pissed me off. I said, 'You know what? Now I gotta get in your face.' And that’s what we all have to do now. They pissed off the wrong group of people. They have galvanized a community...Instead of having gay marriage in California, we’re going to get it across the country.”

Pompeo Doubles Down on Sin City Celebrations
How are Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and her husband, Chris Ivery, going to celebrate their upcoming one-year wedding anniversary?
With a trip to Las Vegas, baby!
The couple, whose anniversary is on Monday, Nov. 10, have plans to stay in a "plush suite" at the Palazzo this weekend, a source tells me.
They'll get their party on Saturday night at Tao restaurant and nightclub, which will be celebrating its third anniversary. Pompeo and Ivery will be joined for some of their celebrating by Pompeo's former Grey's costar star Kate Walsh and her Hollywood executive hubby, Alex Young, the source says.
Pompeo has another big day to toast—she turns 39 on Saturday.
"They wanted to do something special," the source said, "but didn't want to go too far because of Ellen's filming schedule."
Marriage Looks Good on ScarJo and Ryan
Although we have yet to see any pics from Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds' wilderness wedding (or read cover stories about how blissfully happy married life is), the pictures from their first public appearance together since tying the knot speak for themselves.
When they hit Michael J. Fox's Parkinsons' benefit last night in NYC, the über-private duo made sure not to pose for any pics together. But both seem to be glowing and looked more gorgeous than ever in their solo shots.
Is Ryan still on a high from completing his first marathon? Is ScarJo super stoked that her faux fiancé Barack Obama won the presidency? Or are these two lovebirds just basking in their post-nuptial glow?
In any case, married life looks good on these two.
Melissa Etheridge Blogs Adoption and Marriage
Melissa Etheridge knows firsthand what it’s like to be denied the right to adopt children because she’s gay.
“I remembered being a new mom in 1997,” she writes in a blog post at The Daily Beast. “I followed the long trail of red tape to find a way to adopt my children so they could be covered by health insurance, or so I could see them in the hospital in case of some emergency, along with dozens of other reasons.”
Sadly, she was denied because California law prohibited social workers from adoption approval of same-sex couples. But then with the help of a lawyer, she was able to convince a judge to overrule the denial and allow the adoption to go through.
Zac and Vanessa Get Down at Hawaiian Wedding
Looks like all the intricate dance moves Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens do in High School Musical work for the twosome when they're off-camera, too.
The two lovebirds showed off their skills on the dance floor this weekend when they were in Hawaii for a wedding...
No, not their own!
Nelly Furtado Comes Clean on Secret Marriage
Whoa, Nelly. Now that's some good secret-keeping.
Canuck songbird Nelly Furtado has revealed in an interview set to air on Entertainment Tonight Canada Friday that she quietly—very quietly—tied the knot with fiancé Demacio "Demo" Castellon over the summer.
"We got married July 19," she says. "I love it.
"It's a nice phase of my life…I just feel kind of free and relaxed and more in tune with trying not to be so stressed out. I'm trying to enjoy things a little more."
The 29-year-old announced her engagement to Castellon last summer. The duo met when he engineered her 2006 hit album Loose.
Speculation on the state of Furtado's marital status kicked off in recent weeks, when the apparently no longer "Promiscuous" warbler was spotted wearing some serious bling while making the scene in Miami.
The singer has one child, 4-year-old daughter Nevis, from a previous relationship.
Molly Ringwald Fights Gay Marriage Ban
From Pretty in Pink to pink triangles...
Molly Ringwald is the latest celeb to come out against Proposition 8, a California ballot initiative that seeks to overturn the state's legalization of gay marriage.
In a PSA produced by gay entertainment group Homotracker, the star of TV's The Secret Life of the American Teenager plays one-half of a straight couple being harranged by a buffoon who is against gay marriage.
Margaret Cho also shot a PSA for the group. Cho actually began marrying same-sex couples after being deputized in San Francisco shortly after the California Supreme Court ruled in favor gay unions in May.

Jennifer Love Weighs In on Cheryl Burke's Bod
Jennifer Love Hewitt says people need to lay off Cheryl Burke. “I think her dancing is what everyone needs to be concentrating on,” Hewitt said Saturday at St. Jude’s Runway for Life Gala in Beverly Hills. If you haven't heard by now, Burke has been facing some rather nasty press for putting on some weight since last season's Dancing With the Stars. Hewitt battled similar criticism about a year ago after paparazzi snapped some unflattering shots of her in a bathing suit while vacationing in Hawaii.
J.Lo & Marc: Magic and Marriage Redux in the Air
Friday night, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony mugged with Criss Angel following his show in Vegas. The following day, the twosome worked their own magic.
The superstar couple completed Marc's 40th birthday celebrations by renewing their wedding vows at approximately 3:15 a.m. Sunday in the Forum Tower Penthouse at Caesars, sources tell E! News.
Lopez, 39, and Anthony got hitched in her L.A. backyard on June 5, 2004, just five days after Anthony's divorce was complete. (Those historically minded readers may remember that Anthony also renewed his vows with first wife Dayanara Torres in 2002, two years before their split.)
No official comment from the happy couple about the redos, but let us be the first to say: Cheers!

Pete Wentz Keeps Coming Out for Gay Marriage
Pete Wentz and Barbra Streisand in the same room together!
What ever will they talk about?
Actually, there's an easy answer for that: gay marriage.
Wentz's band, Fall Out Boy, and Babs are just two of the boldfaced names expected at a Vote No on Prop 8 fundraiser Oct. 21 in Beverly Hills.
For those who haven't heard, Proposition 8 is a November ballot initiative that seeks to overturn California's legalization of gay marriage.
Eddie Van Halen Pops the Question
Forget teacher. Eddie Van Halen's hot for Janie.
The guitar god has gotten engaged to longtime girlfriend Janie Liszewski.
The 53-year-old Van Halen mastermind dropped to one knee and popped the question to the 38-year-old publicist in a private room at a Tiffany & Co. store while vacationing in Hawaii, according to People. They will reportedly tie the knot next June.
It will be Van Halen's second attempt at nuptial bliss. He and Valerie Bertinelli were married for 26 years before separating in 2001 and finalizing their divorce last year. They have a son, 17-year-old Wolfgang, who has been playing bass in the family band.
This will be the first matrimonial go for Liszewski, an actress and stuntwoman who became Van Halen's publicist in 2007, just in time to promote the hugely successful Van Halen reunion tour with David Lee Roth.
Idol Also-Rans Descend On Alum Wedding
Keeping up with this Jones now requires a diamond ring. And one punchline-friendly pal.
American Idol season-six contestant LaKisha Jones tied the knot with beau Larry Davis Sunday at the posh Beverly Wilshire hotel.
The 28-year-old fourth-place finisher's big day was celebrated by 50 guests, including fellow Idol contestants Haley Scarnato, Melinda Doolittle, Gina Glocksen and—drumroll please—Sanjaya Malakar.
The theme was Old Hollywood, according to People, and Jones donned a strapless Alfred Angelo gown, custom crystal-encrusted Stuart Weitzman shoes and Neil Lane jewelry.
Jones' 5-year-old daughter, Brionne, served as flower girl. Davis, who doubles as his bride's financial adviser, popped the question last June.
After a Barbados honeymoon, Jones will put the finishing touches on a new album set to drop in February.
