Katy Perry Gets Even More Worldly

Katy Perry is packing up the cherry ChapStick and hitting the road.

The smooch-happy pop star is embarking on her first world tour next year in support of her debut album, One of the Boys, which contains her smash-hit single "I Kissed a Girl," as well as...some other songs.

Perry's 50-city global jaunt will touch down in large clubs and small theaters from Arizona to Amsterdam. She starts off Jan. 23 in Seattle, heads to Europe a month later and then returns to the states before wrapping April 28 in St. Petersburg, Fla. Her website connects all the itinerary dots.

Danish pop group Alphabeat will open for Perry on her North American dates, while electronic rockers 3OH!3 will join her overseas.

If there's one thing we can count on from Madonna, it's the making of a little music history now and again.

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake will be performing alongside the Material Girl Thursday when her Sticky & Sweet tour touches down at Dodger Stadium, E! News' Ryan Seacrest has learned.

"They are going to be onstage performing with Madonna," Seacrest said on KIIS-FM host DJ BoyToy Jesse's Wednesday afternoon show.

Of course, while Timberlake and Spears have both collaborated with Madge individually, the exes haven't been spending much quality time together in recent years.

Lance, Toni Lead Dancing's New Tour

Dancing with the Stars
ABC/KELSEY McNEAL

Now might be a good time to hire a traveling medic (or seven) for the Dancing With the Stars roadie crew.

The stars and pros of the ABC juggernaut are gearing up to hit the streets for their fourth national outing, with the 38-city Dancing With the Stars—The Tour set to kick off in San Diego Dec. 17.

Contenders from current and previous seasons are on board, including Lance Bass and Toni Braxton, no strangers to arena-sized treks, Maurice Greene and Marlee Matlin.

It's unclear if more stars will be added to the lineup, but notably absent is this season's breakout water-cooler star, for better or worse, Cloris Leachman. Fortunately for would-be ticket holders, and thanks primarily to Quentin Tarantino, she is otherwise professionally engaged.

Michael Kills Jackson 5 Reunion Rumor

Michael Jackson AP Photo

Hmph, it seemed too kitschtastic to be true.

Michael Jackson continued to dash dreams of pop-royalty rejuvenation by confirming Thursday that he will not be joining Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito on a Jackson 5 reunion tour.

"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them," Jackson said in a statement released by rep Dr. Tohme.

"I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon."

Somebody tell Jermaine.

Janet Lacks "Discipline" in Detroit, May Join Jackson 5 Reunion

Apparently Detroit didn't want a repeat of Boobgate.

Facing pressure from officials at the Palace of Auburn Hills arena—and not wanting to be a scofflaw—Janet Jackson nixed a racy segment of her oh-so-troubled Rock Witchu tour Tuesday.

Because of a Michigan law that forbids simulated sex acts in a public performing space, the Control diva nixed her usual concert routine of inviting onstage a male audience member, tying him down and pretending to grope him while dancers mime various sex acts around them, including masturbation.

"Janet did not want to disappoint her Detroit-area fans again, so we adhered to Michigan's state ordinance and trimmed the 'Discipline' segment of the show so it would not be canceled," Jackson's manager, Kenneth Crear, says in a statement.

During the encore, Jackson apologized to fans for leaving out the raunchy number, which she's performed on past concert stops, including the Palace, without controversy.

Janet Jackson Resumes Rockin' Witchu

Love doesn't have to do without Janet Jackson anymore.

The 42-year-old pop diva performed as if she had never heard of a thing called vertigo as she finally resumed her Rock Witchu Tour Wednesday night in Washington, D.C.

Jackson had been sidelined since Sept. 29 with migraine-associated vertigo and, on doctors' orders, was forced to postpone nine shows, including one originally scheduled for tomorrow at Madison Square Garden.

But the sell-out crowd gathered at the Verizon Center tonight got lucky. Jackson made her entrance amid fireworks and theatrical smoke and then, knowing what works, kicked off the show with a medley of "The Pleasure Principle," "Control" and "What Have You Done for Me Lately," all off of 1986's Control.

"It feels so good to be back after being down just a little bit," the artist said during a brief break in the evening's lineup, which also included her latest single, "Feedback," "Miss You Much," "Nasty" and "Rhythm Nation."

Those hanging on to Janet Jackson concert tix are going to have to keep on hanging.

After her first comeback attempt was scuttled, the pop-R&B diva has been forced to cancel another date on her Rock Witchu Tour on the advice of her doctor.

Jackson was supposed to go onstage tonight at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, N.Y. A message on the hotel's website states that the concert has been postponed "due to doctors' orders."

As has been the case with the seven other performances Jackson has scrapped since falling ill Sept. 29 in Montreal during a sound check, Oct. 13 tickets will be honored when the show is rescheduled. Her total number of missed dates will jump to nine on Thursday, when she was supposed to play Madison Square Garden but already postponed her appearance in light of all the date shuffling.

Janet Jackson is ready for more onstage escapades.

A rep for the veteran pop star said Wednesday that Jackson is ready to continue the North American leg of her Rock Witchu tour after sitting out a handful of dates to recover from an unspecified ailment.

Due to all the reshuffling, she has decided against playing NYC's Madison Square Garden on Oct. 16 but will be back on the road Oct. 11 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

R.E.M.'s Buck Short a Guitar; Reward Offered

Peter Buck Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images

It's not the end of the world as we know it, but it could be the end of an era.

R.E.M. announced today that someone made off with founding member Peter Buck's signature Rickenbacker guitar immediately following their Tuesday night performance at Finnair Stadium in Helsinki, Finland.

In pleading for its safe, no-prosecution-necessary return, the band emphasized how important the instrument is to Buck, who has been toting his Rick onstage and into the studio since R.E.M. cut Chronic Town in 1982.

Keith Urban Adds More Pain to Whole Crazy Thing

These 14 seconds are worth watching just for the little head roll Keith Urban does at the end when describing how he might look performing with a slipped disc in his back.

But although the New Zealand-born country star was hurting, he still showed up early Saturday night at the Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa in Kelseyville, Calif., to do his own sound check.

He went on to sing a combo of greatest hits and lesser-known gems—including a stellar version of "Shine," from Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing—and otherwise rock the house.

The artist's rep says that Urban isn't planning on letting his injury affect any upcoming dates on his North American tour, which touches down next on Aug. 30 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
