Is the "Next Miley" Already Going Hollywood?

It sounds like Selena Gomez is movin’ in on Miley Cyrus’ musical territory.
As I first told you, Disney execs are looking to make Gomez their next breakout, especially in response to the Hanna Montana star's recent controversy with the Vanity Fair pic.

Now I hear that the 15-year-old Gomez, who stars in the Disney Channel hit Wizards of Waverly Place, is being wooed by Cyrus’ music label, Hollywood Records. (The label is actually part of the Disney Music Group and releases many of the Mouse conglomerate's television and movie soundtracks.)
Cyrus, also 15, has a four-album deal with the label. Her second CD, Breakout, is expected to be released this summer.
“Hollywood Records really wants Selena,” a source tells me. “Nothing’s signed yet, but they’re going after her in a strong way.”
Though she doesn't have an album out yet, Gomez recently recorded several new songs for the upcoming Warner Bros. movie Another Cinderella Story. She’s even shooting a couple of music videos to support the flick, another source tells me.
Just a smidgen of Cyrus' success would be golden. People magazine recently estimated that in just another year, Cyrus will be worth—gulp—$1 billion.

My kids love that show. She really is a good actress. Got her start on the Hannah Montana show, you know!

Does every disney star have to be able to sing? I cant think of many disney stars who HAVENT come out with songs.. Is it a requirement or something?

No one can replase Miley Cyrus she is a better actress, a better singer, a better person and pretty'er than Selene Gomez. And I don't think it's fare dat Disney wants to replace Miley Cyrus just cuz a bad decition and some stupid photos. If they do ther r going 2 lose a great actress and singer and they r going 2 lose alot.

If you notice in the two PICs, Selena looks much younger than Miley. I think Miley went from looking 14-18 very fast. Selena has a more youthful looking face! Her dark eyes and face remind me a bit of a young Jessica Alba appearance. My daughter likes Selena and the show she's is on. I'm not ready for my daughter to go onto looking and acting like 18+ yet (like Miley), she's only 12...

You know, there is plenty of room for two hot, young girls in Hollywood. More than One came from the mickey mouse Club, including Justin Timberland. Nobody is an Island. There are more, and we can enjoy them all. Both girls are adorable.

Miley is irreplacable ***** Shes just having a hard time still showing one's back isnt so much is it and i thought Indians were conservative. Still Miley rulz!! even in india people r crazy abt her!!!! Shes HOT and Selena not! even though she might be pretty in the pic but thats just Adobe photoshop....................

Personally, I think Miley Cyrus is a huge joke. Selena Gomez is a much better role model for my kids. I don't allow them to watch Hannah Montanna, it's a pointless TV show. Out with the stupid and in with the cool. Selena Gomez is a better singer, role model, actress and she's much prettier than Miley Cyrus. I'm so sick of hearing about her, she's a waste of breath.

I think that'd be awesome. I don't think Miley Cyrus is the best role model but im not gonna bash on her. Selena Gomez is a wonderful girl and has a wonderful voice.
