Fashion Face-Off: Katy Perry vs. Blake Lively

You wouldn't think Katy Perry and Blake Lively would have similar styles, but go figure: Both babes recently donned versions of the same lacy, floral print dress.
Blake wore it first, to the NYC premiere of Where the Wild Things Are. Perhaps taking the movie's title a bit too literally, she settled on a feathered version of the frock.
The Gossip Girl star showed lots of leg and left her blond locks loose and wavy to complete the look.
Katy, however, chose a long, elegant version for her hosting duties at the MTV Europe Awards last night...

Katy Perry Does the Mash at MTV Europe Awards
When Katy Perry dons a corset and surrounds herself with dancers in retro lingerie...Well, she could be doing almost anything.
But on this occasion she was mashing together the Best Song nominees at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Hosting the shindig in Berlin for the second year in a row, Perry got the party at the "Katy Kat Club" going with a cabaret-style medley of Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling," David Guetta's "When Love Takes Over," featuring Kelly Rowland, Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody," Beyoncé's "Halo" and Lady Gaga's "Poker Face."
Perry's "Poker Face" was a little more wild-eyed than some, but she had the pantsless Gaga thing down. A little less bodysuit and we could've seen her halo.
But though all those acts got the proverbial girl-kiss from Perry, it was Beyoncé who stole the show with three wins for Best Female, Best Song and Best Video for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," and she was the night's final performer.

Katy Perry had her new man, Russell Brand, by her side as she celebrated her 25th birthday this weekend with a party in West Hollywood.
And things are going so well between the two lovebirds that Mr. Brand is already bonding with Perry's parents.
"While the crowd was singing, 'Happy Birthday,' Russell had his arm around Katie's dad's shoulder," a partygoer says.
Another source said Perry gushed to a pal about her new beau: "Do you want to meet my boyfriend? He's hilarious!"

Ms. Perry decided to "rock" this peculiar Muppet-covered dress in Paris, France, for Fashion Week, but instead of looking fab it looked like a toy chest exploded on her dress.
We already heart ya, babe, you don't need to try to win us over with your Lady Gaga-esque cry for help. You got yourself an oddly desirable man; just because you don't need to hook a boyfriend anymore doesn't mean the effort needs to go out the window.
Girl, even in comparison to Holly Madison's sexual shrieks with her then-hookup buddy Brand, your dress screams louder (in a not exactly pleasurable way) than anything fun going on in Sin City.
Let's try to stay away from getups that make you look like a 5-year-old, please? You're a gorg girl! I mean, really, especially with all this Roman Polanski crap breaking all around us (and all over again). Maybe ask bestie Rihanna for some tips? Might help. Just a suggestion, doll! You rock every other time!

Although the two took a trip to Thailand last month, they've somehow managed to avoid being photographed together...until now.
Russell escorted Katy to the Fendi fete in Paris, where the couple is currently visiting for Fashion Week.

Katy Perry has every intention of telling the truth when she guest judges on American Idol—even if it means hurting someone's feelings.
"I might become a little bit of a buddy with Simon," Perry told me on Saturday at the Palladium in Hollywood, just before she hit the stage for her show (presented by SoundsofBuzz.com and Coca-Cola), "because whenever I watch that show, as much as he's an asshole, he's a very truthful, honest asshole."
Perry will sit on the judges' panel next month when auditions are held in Los Angeles...

Katy Perry made her way back to Los Angeles this weekend, performing one of her tour's final shows at the Hollywood Palladium Saturday (you can watch it here). Upstairs in the VIP area, all eyes were not on "celeb" Perez Hilton who was in attendance (so cool he couldn't be bothered to take his sunglasses off the entire time inside), but rather on one of Katy's constant rumored love interests, Benji Madden.
Despite being quite short, B.M. was hard to miss with his standard fedora and tats on display. Benji was in a great mood, chatting with friends as he made a brief appearance upstairs before Katy took the stage. Mr. Madden went MIA during the show. Maybe to watch with Perry's "close friends" backstage?
After her fab performance, Katy headed over to club h.wood solo to meet new bestie Rihanna, who was not alone...

Katy Perry performed "Like a Virgin" with DJ AM and Travis Barker at last year's MTV Video Music Awards.
I caught up with Katy on Saturday night at the Palladium in Hollywood, just before she hit the stage for her show (presented by SoundsofBuzz.com and Coca-Cola).
"Every time I met him, he was such a wonderful person, full of life, very bright," she said of the late DJ. "It continues to remind everybody to live life to the fullest [and] love the people around you."
