Rob, Kristen and Taylor's Best Talk Show Moments
Happy New Moon weekend, everyone! We gotta hand it to Rob, Kristen and Taylor, they all worked so hard over the past month to promote their little vampire movie, which culminated last night in a three-way (pre-taped) interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Now they can all go back to their normal lives. For Taylor that means pumping iron and practicing back flips all day, while Rob and Kristen lurk around the shadows of Chateau Marmont.
But before we say goodbye to the gang until they resurface for Eclipse this summer, we thought we'd put together our favorite moments from the past week's talk show appearances. (And there were a lot of them—Ellen, Conan, Leno, Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Today, Regis and Kelly.)
Usually they’re met with the same questions: Did you ever expect this to be so big? How is this movie different from the last? OMG, fans are so crazy, right? They scream so much! How did you bulk up to play Jacob Black? Are you dating Kristen? What do you think of your Barbie? Will you throw this football? (Both Taylor and Kristen had to do that, btw.)
Still, there were some fun moments to be had and we've compiled them all right here just in case you fell asleep while Taylor talked about his workout regime for the 13th time.
Let's see what we got:

Accused Letterman Extortionist: It Was Business, Not Blackmail
If you ask the man accused of trying to blackmail David Letterman, he's the victim of a stupid human trick, nothing more.
Which explains why the attorney for suspect Robert "Joe" Halderman has asked a New York judge to dismiss his extortion charges, claiming that Halderman's desire to sell the Late Show host a screenplay treatment about Letterman's sexual liaisons amounted to nothing more than a "pure commercial transaction."
In a motion filed today at Halderman's first appearance in a Manhattan court, defense counsel Gerald Shargel asked that the attempted first-degree grand larceny charge against the 48 Hours Mystery man be dropped on the grounds that the case was being driven by "sensationalism" and the grand jury did not have all the facts to indict him.
"The sensationalism surrounding this indictment, fueled by the celebrity of the purported victim and the deference paid to that celebrity by the district attorney's office, has swallowed the only pertinent issue now before the court," wrote Shargel.
In fact, Shargel maintains, his client should be applauded, not punished.
Law & Order Rips David Letterman's Sexcapades From the Headlines
What took so long?
After taking a shot at the Gosselins, the Law & Order brain trust has now set its sights on a certain late-night dog, plotting a ripped-from-the-headlines scenario based on David Letterman's personal life.
The casting call has just gone out for the episode, which per The Wrap will revolve around a "well-known celebrity talk-show host, married with children," who has engaged in "a series of short-lived affairs with some of the employees on the show and up until now has managed to keep them off the radar."
Until, that is, the host is approached by an email- and photo-equipped blackmailer who demands $3 million in hush money.
Sounds familiar enough. But it wouldn't be Law & Order without a twist, and this one's a doozy...
Ex-Letterman Employee Blows Whistle On "Demeaning" Late Night Gig
David Letterman might have thought that taking a week off from Late Show duties would at least temporarily decrease the bad publicity. Clearly, he thought wrong.
This time around, he has former scorned employee Nell Scovell to thank for bringing the subject of his indiscretions back under the microscope.
Scovell, one of the few female writers ever to be hired at Letterman HQ (or, for that matter, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien HQ), is speaking writing out about her time working for the Top 10 boss via a short essay for Vanity Fair that paints her late '80s tenure on his NBC Late Night show as one marred by uncomfortable tension, hostile environments and sexual favoritism.
Scovell starts weaving her tale exactly where people want her to: in the gutter.
Get the Gory Details of Letterman Search Warrants
David Letterman is no stranger to our living rooms. Now we're getting a peek into his.
Over the objection of prosecutors, a Connecticut judge today agreed to unseal search warrants related to police raids on the home of Letterman's alleged blackmailer.
And boy did they apparently fine some juicy stuff.
According to the document signed by NYPD Dets. Terrence Blake and Anthony Pasquarielao and obtained by E! News, investigators targeted "any and all computers and loose media, floppy disk, hard disc, cassette tapes, magnetic tapes, removable media, tape and/or data cartridges" while searching the residence of Robert "Joe" Halderman.
Looks like they had their own Top 10 list.

Judge Refuses to Put Lid on Letterman Evidence
UPDATE: A Norwalk Superior Court Judge ruled today that search warrants pertaining to Letterman's alleged extortionist should be unsealed, but only after information about the identities of various witnesses are redacted.
The ruling was a win by media groups, who wanted the material made public, and came over the objection of prosecutors, who were concerned that witnesses could become "victims by association" and the focus of intense scrutiny, and ultimately screw up the government's case.
Tina Fey Gets Virginal With David Letterman
David Letterman's sex scandal may be dominating headlines, but Tina Fey's tales between the sheets was the buzzed-about topic on The Late Show last night.
The host brought up an article from Us Weekly about people who lost their virginity in their 20s. Adriana Lima (27), Chris Martin (22) and Brooke Shields (22) were among them.
And, so was Tina, who admitted to handing in her V-card at age 24.
But, she says, there was a distinct difference between her experience and that of the previously mentioned.
"See, all the other people, that was a choice on their part," the 39-year-old 30 Rocker said. "That one lady's a Victoria's Secret model. She made a choice…[I] couldn't give it away."
Letterman told her "there's nothing wrong with that," and pointed out that the lucky man 15 years ago is now her husband and the father of her child.
"That's just good, Christian values," the Harper's Bazaar cover girl joked. "Or bein' homely."

Letterman Loses His Tom Hanks Privileges
Who isn't backstage to fulfill David Letterman's every whim?
Wasn't the Late Show host pleased to find out tonight that the little red button on his desk automatically beckons Tom Hanks when pressed—and that the two-time Oscar winner will drop everything to be at his side?!
Well, Hanks was willing to drop everything (over the course of 5,000 shows, apparently!), but as he warned Letterman, "You abuse it, you lose it."
Kimmel Pulls a Letterman?!
If Jimmy Kimmel wants to know the Top 10 reasons why you shouldn't dip your pen in the company ink, we know just the man he can turn to.
ABC's late-night leader has taken a page from David Letterman's book—granted, a much more transparent and much less controversial page—with the revelation that he's been dating a longtime underling on his staff.
Suddenly, his kid-glove treatment of Letterman's mini-scandal makes a little more sense.
Kimmel's rep spent the majority of the weekend confirming his relationship with the show's cohead writer, Molly McNearney, which sources tell E! News is several months in.
While they were at it, sources also went on to preemptively shoot down rumors that the relationship may have helped McNearney on her climb up the corporate ladder: While she started as an assistant to the executive producer back in 2003, she joined the writing staff soon after and was promoted to her current position more than a year ago, well before her relationship with Kimmel began.
As for the host, the coupling marks his first relationship since his split from Sarah Silverman earlier this year.
Ben Affleck's gonna be so disappointed.

Doesn't it seem as if, just a few weeks ago, Jon and Kate Gosselin were slowly edging off the radar...
Maybe they sensed they were losing their tabloid stamina and couldn't deal, because the duo are back with a vengeance, trading barbs, filing court docs, buying birthday cake...
With stars like these, who needs average acquaintances?

Letterman's Hookup on Paid Leave, While Dave Keeps on Cracking Jokes
This just in from the home office:
Stephanie Birkitt, the woman at the center of David Letterman's sex scandal, is not barred from the The Late Show set as TMZ and other media outlets have been reporting.
"Stephanie is on a paid leave of absence. TMZ's reporting that she is banned from the building is incorrect," a rep for the host's Worldwide Pants production company tells E! News.
No word whether she's hiking the Appalachian Trail, but while she's MIA, Letterman has escaped any kind of official reprimand. He remains on air, cracking jokes at his expense and raking in boffo ratings.
Podcast: Is Letterman a Hypocrite—or Totally Not?
Is it really a shocking thing what Letterman did? Will this affect the show?
—Adina Ga, via Facebook
No. Most people like to have sex. Powerful people have more opportunities to get it on. Ergo, a person who likes to have sex, and has more opportunities to have said sex, will likely go ahead. It's just, you know, science.
What annoys me is people calling David Letterman a hypocrite. I nail a lot of stars for being hypocritical about their private lives, but there's nothing hypocritical about this particular celebrity having a sex scandal.
And I'mma tell you why, in my all-new podcast! Hit play above the listen.
