Natalie Portman Equates Meat-Eating With Rape
First, she admits to cutting herself, now she's making criminals of meat-eaters. Make no mistake, Natalie Portman is all grown up and not some shrinking violet.
Penning what amounts to a Harvard-caliber book report for the Huffington Post, the actress and animal rights activist holds forth on her devotion to veganism and her opinion that those who choose to feast on flesh without regard for the moral implications might as well change their name to Roman Polanski.
The 28-year-old—with whose glowing self veganism clearly agrees—starts off harmlessly enough, crediting Jonathan Safran Foer's Eating Animals with her transition from 20 years of vegetarianism to eschewing all animal byproducts.
"I've always been shy about being critical of others' choices because I hate when people do that to me," she writes. "I'm often interrogated about being vegetarian (e.g., 'What if you find out that carrots feel pain, too? Then what'll you eat?').
"I've also been afraid to feel as if I know better than someone else—a historically dangerous stance (I'm often reminded that 'Hitler was a vegetarian, too, you know.') But this book reminded me that some things are just wrong."
That's where the criminalization of carnivores comes in.
Kim Kardashian Is Plenty Fertile, Thank You Very Much
When bloggers twist Kim Kardashian's words, they also twist her nerves.
The E! reality star recently gave an interview in which she expressed interest in having children someday. Nothing new or exciting there. However, some publications are taking a hacksaw to her words and reading them as some sort of implication that she cannot have her own children.
"Kim apparently has never been pregnant, and apparently doesn't know for sure if she can have kids," one site said. "Kim's response seems to indicate an ignorance to her reproductional abilities."
Hmm...
Here's what Miss K actually said:

Clay Aiken Semi-Apologizes to Adam Lambert, Slams the Blogosphere
Clay Aiken has retracted his claws regarding that other American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert.
The Broadway star took to his members-only blog last night to address his earlier statements about the vocal stylings of Lambert. Explained Aiken, "I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard. Any performer hopes that their music will appeal to all people, but no singer realistically expects it to."
And while no one believed that Aiken literally bled from his ears at the sound of Lambert's voice, the singer chose to place the focus on the blogosphere's misinterpretation of his words rather than the harshness of his remarks.
"My opinion is just that, only my opinion, but for as much as some of the bloggers seem to dislike me and care so little about my thoughts, they sure can waste a lot of their space on what I say," complains the performer.
T.I. Waxes Philosophical About Jail Time, Fires Snitch
Rapper T.I. is ready to be a role model...or so he says.
On the cusp of a yearlong prison sentence for possession of illegal firearms, the star (real name: Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.) reflects on his past, present and future by blogging for the Huffington Post.
"Through this painful process of going to court and being convicted, I realized that I had to make a change," he writes. "I made some bad decisions. I broke the law and will accept my punishment."
He continues on to describe how he'd like to make changes in himself and in others, some of which have already been documented on MTV's T.I.'s Road to Redemption.
Tom Cruise Top Gun Costar McGillis: Yup, She's Gay
Who knew when Tom Cruise famously serenaded Kelly McGillis in Top Gun with "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" it would be a foreshadowing of things to come?
In a new interview with SheWired.com, McGillis reveals that she's gay. Now single, the 51-year-old actress told videoblogger Jennifer Corday that she was looking for a girlfriend. "I'm done with the man thing," she said. "I did that. I need to move on in life."
McGillis' breakout role, as an Amish mother in Witness opposite Harrison Ford in 1985, earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Top Gun followed in 1986, and then two years later, she played an attorney for a rape victim (a role which earned Jodie Foster an Oscar) in The Accused.
McGillis took a break from television and film in the 1990s.
Rumored to be a lesbian for quite some time, she eventually played one on TV in 2007...
O.C. Housewife Gretchen: Let Gays Marry!
Add a Real Housewife of Orange County to the list of people unimpressed by Miss California Carrie Prejean’s antigay rhetoric.
“I have a lot of dear friends within the community, and I think they’re wonderful, great people,” Gretchen Rossi told us Friday at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s gala benefiting its women's services. “They’re the most talented, friendly, outgoing friends to have, so I think everybody should be OK with everybody having the same rights.”
Rossi, of course, wasn’t the only person at the event who had something to say about the beauty pageant queen’s stance on gay marriage...
Pete Wentz Gets Bloggy on Behalf of "Invisible Children"
Pete Wentz has found himself a cause.
Out to show he's more than just another emo-rocking, Twitter-happy celeb, the Fall Out Boy frontman has taken to the Internet to raise awareness about—of all things—the urgent problem of child soldiers in Uganda.
Wentz writes in the Huffington Post that he got motivated after watching the film Invisible Children: Rough Cut about homeless kids in the African country abducted and forced to fight by rebel leaders.
"It was one of those times in my life where I was given a choice—continue ignoring the issue because it wasn't in front of me, or forget about myself and do something," he writes, urging people to participate in an April 25 event to bring attention to the plight of child soldiers.
ScarJo Chews Up Media Over Superhero Diet
Scarlett Johansson has no problem admitting that she's working out and cleaning up her diet like never before. After all, she plans to look good in a latex catsuit for her new superhero role in the Iron Man sequel.
She does, however, insist that her ways of shaping up—and the results—are not as drastic as some tabloids would like you to believe.
"Claims have been made that I've been on a strict workout routine regulated by costars, whipped into shape by trainers I've never met, eating sprouted grains I can't pronounce," Johansson writes on the Huffington Post.
In order to truly lose the 14 pounds hyped by the media, "I'd have to part with both arms. And a foot," she writes....
Shanna & Travis Break, Blog & Battle Yet Again
Another chapter in the epic romance that is Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker can mean only one thing—yet another round of blog battles.
The on-again, off-again former MTV reality-show couple divorced in 2004 but were spotted getting reacquainted just after the 33-year-old Blink-182 drummer's tragic plane crash in September. Now they've called it quits yet again, Us magazine confirms.
The magazine alleges the split followed a nasty argument regarding the October sighting of Moakler cozying up to 300 hottie Gerard Butler while Barker was still in the hospital.
"They did break up, but Shanna never cheated on Travis while he was in the hospital," the former Playboy centerfold's rep tells the publication.
Despite her rep's claim that she's "tired of playing out their personal relationship in the press," Moakler lashed out on the situation on her MySpace blog.
Zac Efron Wishes for More "Celebrity Meltdowns"
Who knew Zac Efron was one of us? That is, a lover of an old-fashioned celebrity meltdown!
But apparently Efron is, at least judging by his personal note to gossip blogger Perez Hilton.
Hilton celebrated his 31st birthday at the Viper Room in Hollywood on Saturday night and although Efron couldn't make it to the party, he did send the Gossip Gangster a gift and card that read:
"Perez, Happy Birthday, May this year bring you lots of love, luck, and celebrity meltdowns. Zac."

Star Jones: A New View in the Blogosphere
Star Jones turned 47 today. How did the former View cohost celebrate?
By launching a blog, Positively Star.
She's certainly not taking the lead from Rosie O'Donnell's once much-buzzed-about blog. Where Rosie had lots of bells and whistles, photos and art, Star's is pretty stripped down. There are a couple of posts, two glamour shots and a bio that describes Star as "an American lawyer chick who is free, black and grown."
So, what's she posting about?
Radiohead's Thom Yorke Schools Miley Cyrus & Kanye West on Humility
When Radiohead refused to meet Miley Cyrus and Kanye West at the Grammy Awards last month, the starlet threatened to "ruin" them and the rapper refused to stand for their performance. Now the In Rainbows band is fighting back.
Cyrus kicked off the feudin' during an appearance on the Johnjay and Rich radio show and rambled on for more than six minutes about how the band dissed her after she begged her manager to set up an introduction.
"I'm like, these are the people I really want to meet," she said. "I'd freak out. They're my rock gods. These are the only people that I would cry over…My manager asked and said, 'Miley's really obsessed. And they were like, 'We don't really do that.' "
She continued on in disbelief about the Thom Yorke band's lack of interest in meeting the Hannah Montana, admitting she was so disappointed about the diss, she left the show early.
"I left 'cause I was so upset," she said. "I wasn't going to watch. Stinkin' Radiohead! I'm gonna ruin them, I'm going to tell everyone."
The three-time Grammy winners responded by putting the teen in her place…
