Burns on Turlington: She's the One!
The New York Daily News reports the supermodel and the Saving Private Ryan star are headed for holy matrimony. A friend confirmed the engagement after Turlington was spotted sporting a hefty engagement ring.
"They love each other very much, and their friends and families couldn't be happier for them," the friend tells the Daily News.
Reps for Turlington and Burns had no comment on the impending nuptials.
The celeb couple, who are both 32, got together after being introduced at a Hamptons charity event six months ago, and have been dating ever since. As it also turns out, both coincidentally were on the rebound.
In the last two years, it seems like Burns, the writer, director and star of The Brothers McMullen and She's the One and the costar opposite Robert De Niro in the upcoming thriller 15 Minutes, has been making more news over his personal life, than his career.
Last year, Burns generated headlines when he and actress Heather Graham nearly bought a house together in the Hollywood hills only to split up a short time later. Before that, Burns had been linked to costars Lauren Holly and Maxine Bahns, and once again fed a tabloid frenzy when he purchased the TriBeCa apartment previously owned by John F. Kennedy Jr.--and where he and Turlington are reportedly residing.
Turlington, on the other hand, just ended a five-year relationship with actor and former Lost Boy Jason Patric, having previously dated the likes of Christian Slater and screenwriter Roger Wilson.
The runway star also has been expanding her profile to include anti-smoking crusader after losing her father to lung cancer in 1997. Just last year, the former chain-smoking beauty announced she suffers from early-stage emphysema.
The happy couple is expected to exchange vows in New York, though an official wedding date has not been announced.
