Bethenny Frankel Slams Scripted Reality Shows

Real Housewives star calls series like The Hills and The City are "really deceptive"

Bethenny Frankel is known for keeping it real, and she swears her reality shows do the same.

The former Real Housewife and current star of Bethenny Getting Married? slams shows like The Hills and The City as "really deceptive" during a sit-down with E! News at Dylan's Candy Bar in NYC.

When asked for her thoughts on the MTV dramafests, she said...

"If there really is scripted reality, which I understand to be true, that really sucks," she said in her typical blunt manner. "It's really deceptive to the viewer...If someone's watching their real life, they should probably get their real life."

Although she does admit it can be entertaining, Bethenny says the producers have a responsibility to show the real deal.

"The producers are responsible for making sure they're really giving the viewer what's their life...or don't call it a reality show! Don't say this is this person's real life."

As for the newest addition to Bethenny's life, baby Bryn, it doesn't sound like she'll be meeting Bethenny's estranged mom or her ex-BFF Jill Zarin anytime soon.

"She has that new-car smell," the new mom explained. "I just want clean good energy and happiess around Bryn as long as possible. Life will be difficult enough. I'd rather keep her in her perfect little universe as long as possible."
