Maybe Alec Baldwin Should Host the Oscars

Loading...

Yesterday I gave ya some of the many funny highlights of Alec Baldwin's hosting debut on Monday from Elle Magazine's Women in Hollywood event.

Well, I realized later on that there was even more. So here it is. I promise you that his timing and delivery were laugh-out-loud perfect.

Baldwin griped that many great female movie characters don't get the same play and longevity as male ones do...

"Why couldn't there be a sequel to Thelma & Louise?" Baldwin asked. "Give me one good reason why. I've already got the title—Thelma & Louise 2: Turns Out We Can Fly."

Talking about directors, Baldwin said the best ones know how to "communicate effectively [and] be extremely organized and a champion multi-tasker."

"You've got to be able to think with both sides of your brain, you must be a good listener and above all, you need patience," he said. "Come to think of it, how any man gets that job in the first place is beyond me."

The 30 Rock star also quipped he got the hosting gig because his schedule unexpectedly opened up.

"I was on this really crazy diet," he said, "and Ralph Lauren fired me."

Well, we think Mr. Baldwin should at least be considered for hosting the Oscars. Or better yet—the Academy should go for a double whammy with Baldwin and Tina Fey!

Do you agree?
