The Dark Knight has decided to keep everybody in the dark when it comes to allegations of assault lodged by his Batmom and Batsis.

During a press conference promoting The Dark Knight in Barcelona last night, Christian Bale decided to keep his private life private when faced by relentless queries from the press about what went down in a London hotel room that resulted in him being questioned for more than four hours by police.

"It's a deeply personal matter," Bale said. "I would ask you to respect my privacy in the matter."

The request for an embargo on media prying marked Bale's first comments on the Sunday incident involving mother Jenny and sister Sharon.

After voluntarily turning up at a police station Tuesday morning and undergoing questioning, Bale's reps released a statement refuting allegations that he assaulted, verbally or physically, his relations.

Bale, who has not been charged in connection with the incident but may be required to submit to more police queries in September, arrived at the Barcelona premiere via a 15-car motorcade with wife Sibi. (Sources close to the actor told E! The Caped Crusader star, as expected, did not speak to reporters or comment on the incident, but he did spend the majority of his red-carpet time signing autographs for the Barcelona crowd.
