UPDATE: If you want something done, you've got to do it yourself call someone out on live television.

Just minutes after Taylor Swift confirmed on The View that, for all his attempts at public mea culpas, Kanye West had yet to personally contact her, the hip-hopper did just that.

"Kanye did call me and he was very sincere in his apology and I accepted that apology," Swift told ABC News radio of the sweet-talking phone call.

"The support that I got from other artists and from the fans and so many people sticking up for me, that's what got me to the place that I could accept that apology. I'm just very thankful that everyone showed me so much love."

Still, we won't be holding our breath for a duet.

See how much nicer TV appearances go when they aren't bum-rushed?

The seasoned pro that is Taylor Swift broke her silence on Kanyegate during a stop at Mother Hen HQ this morning, taking the ladies of The View through her thought process when she went up to, theoretically, accept her Best Female Video of the Year VMA Sunday night.

"I think my overall thought process went something like, 'Wow, I can't believe I won, this is awesome, don't trip and fall, I'm gonna get to thank the fans, this is cool...Oh, Kanye West is here. Cool hair cut. What are you doin' there?' And then, 'Ouch.' And then, 'I guess I'm not gonna get to thank the fans.' "

Substitute cool with pretentious and add a touch more collective repulsion and it becomes clear: Rudely interrupted young stars—they think just like us!

And despite West's trio of public mea culpas—each with varying degrees of sincerity—Swift said that the hip-hopper has yet to personally offer her an apology. Or even a hello.

"Sure," she said when asked if she'd welcome contact by the star. "I mean, he has not personally reached out or anything, but if he wanted to say hi..."

As for the actual stagejacking, the 19-year-old, Obama-approved country sweetheart said the incident took its toll on her teenage psyche but, ever the pro, she couldn't let it affect her live performance.

"I'm not gonna say I wasn't rattled by it. I had to perform live five minutes later, and I had to get myself back to the place where I was gonna perform."

She didn't name her album Fearless for nothing.

Swift said the support she got immediately after stepping offstage helped her regroup.

"There were a lot of people around me backstage that were saying a lot of wonderful, incredible things and just having my back. All the other artists that came and showed me love in the hours following it, all the people tweeting about it and all of the fans, I just never imagined that there were that many people looking out for me.

"It was really wonderful to see that people were out there defending me so I didn't have to."

"Hopefully, if Kanye is watching, he'll know what to do," Whoopi Goldberg said, with none other than Barbara Walters herself ominously chiming in: "I'm sure he'll hear about it."

Yikes. With the president and the first ladies of daytime on her side, all we can say is Kanye had better watch his back.
