After American Idol: Lacey Brown Predicted Her Elimination
If Lacey Brown looked a little too calm when American Idol sent her packin' Wednesday night, it's because, well, she was.
"I woke up yesterday morning and had the strangest feeling that I was going home," Brown told reporters early Thursday morning.
Whether you call it bowing out gracefully or a case of crazy accurate intuition—cue the spooky music!—Lacey is holding her head high postelimination and ready for the next big thing. Or maybe just a cup of coffee at her favorite hometown Starbucks...
American Idol Down to 11 as Simon Issues Ryan a Warning
Simon Cowell may be leaving American Idol after this season, but beware anyone who crosses him while he's still around.
"Want to get the eyeballing out of the way?" he pointedly asked Ryan Seacrest at the start of Wednesday's show, criticizing the Idol host for his "aggressive behavior" last night. (Indeed, Ryan has been going to bat for the scorned contestants more often this season.)
"I just thought that you needed to be a bit more constructive with them," Ryan said innocently.
"Do you want my job?" Simon asked. "Because it felt like an audition." ("Very hostile," Randy Jackson could be heard saying off-camera.)
All this drama, and Ryan hadn't even set about naming a bottom three yet!
Ryan Seacrest Mans Up on American Idol
There comes a time in every boy's life when he must become a man.
When he must shed his fears, his shortcomings, his inadequacies and step up to confront the forces that deny his dignity, nay, his very macho essence.
For Ryan Seacrest, that moment has come.
Yes, the smiling, subservient American Idol host has finally shed his toady hair shirt and stepped up to imperious cad Simon Cowell. You can almost smell the Seacrest testosterone, flowing like a newly tapped gusher.
But now that the testy Brit has been taught a lesson, is Joel "Nonstop Seacrest Dwarf Jokes" McHale next on his list?

Live at American Idol: Are Kara and Simon Fake Flirting? Do Simon and Ellen Get Along?
You've heard the rumors: Simon hates Ellen. Ellen hates Simon. Kara and Simon fake flirt for the cameras. Randy is a lone dawg.
But we were there live tonight for the taping of American Idol at CBS Studios in Los Angeles and here's what you need to know:
Update
American Idol: Siobhan Stands Out "Like Snooki's Poof" as Top 12 Roll With the Stones
Oh, the irony.
Mick Jagger and his unorthodox pipes probably wouldn't get past Hollywood week if he tried out for American Idol today, but yet the top 12 were tasked tonight with living up to the standards set by Mick, Keith Richards and their beyond-classic band, the Rolling Stones.
The six guys and six ladies the voters chose—somewhat surprisingly—to move into the upper echelons of Idol's ninth season trotted for the first time onto that bigger studio stage, in front of their biggest live audience yet, to take on the Stones' unparalleled song catalog.
Tuesday also marked the inaugural night of co-ed competition, so we finally got a look at each contestant's star power, side by side.
Here's what we found out:
Paula Abdul Lands on Star Search?
Paula Abdul's next big thing could be the first big thing for a lot of people.
The former American Idol judge has been tapped to host another incarnation of Star Search for ABC, EW.com reports.
This is the first permanent gig that Abdul has been attached to since announcing last summer that she wouldn't be returning to Idol.
She's done some TV guest spots and hosted the VH1 Divas special, but otherwise she hasn't jumped at any of the invitations that have come her way, such as the empty chair So You Think You Can Dance judge (and former Idol producer) Nigel Lythgoe kept next to him last season.
Whether Abdul will also lend her veteran, albeit soft-edged, judging chops to the Star Search critiquing process remains to be seen.
ABC had no comment on its reported new hire. But we say, the more cue cards Paula gets to read from, the better.

Week in Review: Goodbye to Teen Idol Corey Haim

Is it just us, or have far too many of these Week in Reviews lately been recounting tragic deaths of pretty young people we didn't know personally, but who nevertheless left a lasting impression on our young minds back in the 1980s?
This week, after the Oscars swept us away to a glamorous, Clooney-ruled world of red carpets, gorgeous gowns and a hilarious Hitler joke directed at Meryl Streep, we sadly paid tribute to one of the original Tiger Beat studs, Corey Haim...
After American Idol: Todrick Hall Really, Really Wants In on Glee
There's no shame in begging—and begging and begging—right?
If you happen to be American Idol castoff Todrick Hall, the answer is obviously no. "I'm making it my personal job now to be my own campaign manager to get myself a role on Glee," Todrick confidently informed reporters Friday afternoon of his postshow plans.
It may not sound like begging yet, but wait, there's more...
American Idol's Top 12 Choose Simon's Replacement and the Winner Is...Jamie Foxx?!
Multihyphenate Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx might have a whopping seven films in the works, but might he consider adding full-time American Idol judge to his repertoire?
It's time to face the facts, folks—after this season, Simon Cowell is out on A.I. and will need a replacement. And who better to suggest potential seat fillers than the latest Idol contestants?
"You can't replace Simon Cowell, [but] Jamie Foxx was on last year and had a lot of good things to say. If he wanted to step in, that'd be pretty cool to see," too-cute finalist Tim Urban mused at the American Idol Top 12 party Thursday night.
And if Jamie isn't available, fan fave Michael Lynche, aka Big Mike, is more than willing to fill Simon's shoes...
American Idol Down to a Surprising Top 12
The last two weeks it seemed there was a plethora of undeserving American Idol contestants primed for the chopping block.
This week, however, the pickings were slimmer as voters were tasked with whittling the shaky top 16 down to a deserving top 12, which will mark the first themed round of competition—songs of the Rolling Stones!—and the guys and girls will be pitted against each other.
First, think about who deserved to go home Thursday, and then read on to find out who actually left.
American Idol's Top Eight Guys Finally Join the Competition!
After a mostly lovely yet still partly lame ladies' night, it was the guys' turn to sing it out for a spot in American Idol's top 12.
Only a couple had performed with any consistency up to this point, so our hopes weren't high as we tuned in Wednesday to listen to the top eight gents.
Were our suspicions correct, or have we all been a bit hasty in judging the guys to be finished before they even really began?
A Few of American Idol's Top Eight Girls Prove Elite
Considering the show started off with Ellen DeGeneres sitting on Simon Cowell's lap and nuzzling his neck, we expected fireworks!
And, what do you know, we saw some Tuesday on American Idol as the top eight ladies took the stage, a coveted spot in the top 12 twinkling in their eyes.
In some of their eyes, at least.
We've been thrilled by a few performances so far this season, but those star-making "moments," if they even existed in the first place, were few and far between.
And so tonight, we continued to wait for the heir apparent to Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood to make herself inarguably known.
