Scarlett Johansson told Marie Claire back in 2013 that she doesn't understand social media.
"All of it drives me crazy," Scarlett admitted. "I don't understand this need to 'share.' We almost exploit ourselves in order to be seen."
Back in Nov. 2014, Jennifer Lawrence revealed to Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1, "I will never get Twitter, I'm not very good on phone or technology. I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me."
She went on to say that the "the internet has scorned me so much."
During a Q&A back in July 2014 Prince Harry shared his thoughts on social media. "I would love to get involved and go on social media and if it was for causes like this I really would. The issue for myself and my family, put quite simply, is that it's very hard for me to tweet about the Invictus Games and tweet about something that means a lot to me, whereas I at the same time really quite hate Twitter by the invasion of privacy."
In May 2015 George Clooney told Fusion why he's not on Twitter, "Here's a real danger when you're really famous. I can have a drink or two at night. I don't need to have an apparatus that in a drunken joke even, I could say something… and go to sleep and wake up in the morning and my career will be over."
Emma Stone had a Twitter account a couple of years ago, but she's since quit the social media network. Would she rejoin?
"I don't think so," Emma told E! News in 2015.
In 2013 Daniel Radcliffe explained why he doesn't have a Twitter account during an interview with Sky News.
"I don't have Twitter and I don't have Facebook and I think that makes things a lot easier, because if you go on Twitter and tell everybody what you're doing moment to moment and then claim you want a private life, then no one is going to take that request seriously."
Back in 2011 Bradley Cooper told Britain's OK! TV, "For me, maybe I'm old fashioned, if I know so much about you and you're playing a character in a movie then that's a lot of work I'm gonna have to do to forget who you are so that I can believe the character and therefore enjoy the movie."
Back in 2009 Rachel was just learning about Twitter, but she still hasn't joined! She told People back then, "I listen to the news on the radio. I don't have a television and I am really bad at e-mail. [It was] only [recently] that I heard about Twitter for the first time, and it's all I've heard about since. I'm really ignorant."
Kristen Stewart have a private Instagram account but she won't join Twitter. The actress told USA Today back in Oct. 2014, "I have a private Instagram so I can keep in touch with my friends because I'm always away, that's not social media. We have a shared photo stream." But Twitter is just not going to happen. "What would I tweet about? Who are you talking to? What are you saying? Imagine sitting here right now and thinking, ‘That's a good thing to say to the world?' I can't even understand it."
Last year Kate Winslet told The Sunday Times she doesn't allow social media in her house.
"Because all they ever do is design themselves for people to like them," Kate explained. "And what comes along with that? Eating disorders. We don't have any social media in our house."
Keira Knightley reportedly said on The Jonathan Ross Show that she once joined Twitter but it didn't go so well.
"I did actually join Twitter for about 12 hours because I tried to be down with the kids and it just creeped me out," Keira said.
In a 2011 interview with Style.com Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen revealed why they don't have Twitter accounts.
"That gives me so much anxiety," Ashley admitted.
"We've spent our whole lives trying to not let people have that accessibility, so it would go against everything we've done in our lives to not be in the public," Mary-Kate explained.
Like her sisters, Elizabeth avoids social media. In an interview with Fashion Elizabeth explained, "I feel like you let people touch you when you have Instagram or Twitter, and I don't want to be touched all the time. I'm not going to do it—ever."
