The Talk star's former significant other filed for divorce earlier this month in Los Angeles Superior Court, E! News can confirm, where he noted that the two had actually been separated since January 2015.
TMZ first reported the divorce news, and notes that Tyler's rep insists that the two will remain friends.
Tyler and Tietjens tied the knot back in 1994 and were college sweethearts.
According to the court documents obtained by E! News, Tietjens is not seeking spousal support but he indicated that he's reserving the right to ask for such later.
Back in 2013, Tyler revealed on her hit show that she and Tietjens had decided to stop trying to get pregnant after struggling with infertility for years.
"After 40 your chances of getting pregnant are between 2 and 8 percent," the actress (who was 42 at the time) said.
"In my particular case, they were less than 5 percent. I'm old, in baby years, that's old to be trying to get pregnant."
She added that a doctor told her eventually, "Look, based on what we're seeing here, I just don't think this is going to happen for you."
