Yes, Anne Hathaway inadvertently suffered the mother of all wardrobe malfunctions at the New York premiere of Les Misérables earlier this week, when her quest to avoid VPL led her to the now regrettable decision to ditch the underwear altogether. Cue her getting out of the car at a rather unfortunate angle and a massive Britney-esque paparazzi flash.

Well, the newly minted Screen Actors Guild Award nominee is nothing if not graceful under pressure (and embarrassing questioning) and discussed the incident like the classy pro she is on the Today show this morning.

"It was obviously an unfortunate incident," she told Matt Lauer, who mentioned, master of the segue that he is, that he's "seen a lot of you lately."

"It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One, that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it.

"And I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which brings us back to Les Mis: That's what my character is, she is someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing and there's no social safety net."

And just like that she answered the question on her terms, turned the conversation back to why we actually have been seeing so much of her—her Oscar-contending movie—and reminds us why she's one of the classiest actresses in town.
