The Met Gala is all about glitz and glamour. Pomp and circumstance. Class and style.
But it's also about fun.
That's because, as refined as the premise may be—a charity ball benefiting New York City's fanciest museum, organized by America's fanciest magazine—it's still attended by wild and wacky celebrities who are fresh off marathon stints with their glam squads and endless bottles of champagne. Last time we checked, that was a recipe ripe for hijinks.
And while there are certainly some rather, er, uptight moments as fashion's biggest names enter the Metropolitan Museum of Art, there's also a whole lot of fun to be had. When Solange decided to use a little metaphor in her outfit:
When Rihanna decided to bring a tasty pizza snack along:
When Sarah Jessica Parker one-upped Rihanna with a flame to cook her eggs:
When Jennifer Lawrence attempted an epic photo bomb:
When the most important event was fixing Beyoncé's ponytail:
When a photographer cared more about his slice of pizza than Beyoncé's ponytail:
When Hayden Panettiere pulled a Jennifer Lawrence:
Here's to even more hijinks next year, Hollywood!
